The Marvão International Academy for Music, Arts and Sciences is a non-profit cultural organization committed with the development of multidisciplinary actions in the field of music, arts and sciences.
It arises from the confirmation of the potential of Marvão, Castelo de Vide and Portalegre to host concerts of classical music due to its secular heritage spaces and the peculiar natural setting.
It promotes master classes, artistic and scientific residencies, concerts, field activities, exhibitions, workshops, training or awareness actions and is the entity responsible for developing, in partnership with Direção Regional de Cultura do Alentejo, the project “Music, Arts and Science”, one of the winners of Orçamento Participativo de Portugal.
n addition to cultural heritage, it aims to enhance the unique natural resources that embody Parque Natural da Serra de São Mamede, especially at Quinta dos Olhos d’Água, owned by ICNF – Instituto de Conservação da Natureza e das Florestas, I.P., an entity with which a cooperation agreement has already been signed.
